I love your cats! I'm not sure if this will help, but when I add a link to my blog I make sure I'm a few spaces away from my last word or on a new line and then copy and paste it. Once I've done that I highlight the url and type one word. The link then is associated with that word.
I hope this helps. From one cat lover to another.
